sitting down on the slab of slate, roxanne rubbed her eyes and watched as the young pokémon she had - chuugi and sai - were rushing about, crashing into one another every now and again; picking up her sketch pad, roxanne glanced at the pose in which her piplup was in, before committing it to memory, and then began sketching out the outline. "piplup!" the pokémon cried out, letting out a series of bubbles, which roxanne watched and smiled as the young pokémon started jumping up and down happily. setting down the pad, roxanne stood up, and as her growlithe sat down.
piplup rushed over to her, and practically leaped into her arms; its smooth feathers tickling her chest, which was barely covered in a black shirt, and a black jacket wrapped round her waist; a black pair of cargo pants hung loosely off her hips, revealing a pair of black girl-boxers. returning to her seat, roxanne laid down, resting her head on her hands and gazing at sai as the piplup jumped up and down on her chest, her icy blue and red eyes gazed at the pokémon with nothing but adoration, and she smiled as the growlithe which was her faithful partner padded over and growled quietly to the trainer.
roxanne raised her head slightly, and watched as piplup slid from her chest, onto the floor and began looking around, sai decided that chuugis tail was the perfect thing to play with, and so the growlithe was then fated to let the young piplup play with the crimson tail. roxanne stood up, her hands brushing against her clothes and tugged her pants up slightly only to have them fall back in place on her hips. "honestly," she began, her lips cracking slightly as a cold wind blew from the south, piplup squawked slightly as his feathers were ruffled, and he was almost blow down the shoal beach, roxanne raised a hand, and covered her mouth as she giggled slightly.
"growl? growlithe!" chuugi barked, turning to face roxanne and tilting his head. roxanne patted his head before grabbing her bag and sketch pad, "you'll just destroy these sketches, and i promised i'd send a few up for matthews' birthday," she muttered rolling her eyes and grinning slightly as growlithe barked slightly. piplup began jumping on the spot, and growlithe began grumbling, "What is it chu?" roxanne asked, holding onto her cargo pants and tugging them up once more, "you cold or something? or is there a pokémon coming?" roxanne asked, and sai squawked slightly as another rather harsh wind blew through the shoal beach. roxanne was pushed backwards as the two pokémon cried out in surprise; the biting wind made roxanne shiver, and she tugged her jacket on and zipped it up.

After the passing of a few more hours, the two found themselves still wandering out in the forest behind Twinleaf. Ty seemed to be the only one worried about this, "I can't... believe... I forgot... my map... and my compass!" He had been somewhat shouting this to himself more than six times, fifteen minutes after his brother started to lead the way, claiming he knew the way they had to go. Why he listened to his brother was beyond him. They both knew that Sky couldn't find his way out of a paper bag let alone a forest - and one they had never been in without their mother or one of her Pokemon. "Dude! Lighten up... it's only been what... an hour? We're fine. And we will still be alright once we get to Rowan's Lab." "An hour? An hour!?" Tyler shouted, now stopping in his tracks, "No, dear brother, it has been exactly four and a half hours! I know because I've been checking my watch every hour."
A bead of sweat trickled down the side of the younger twin's head, turning around to face his worried and upset brother with a look of nervousness. "F-Four hours, you say? Wow, time sure flies when you're..." "Don't you dare finish that statement. Because we're not having fun or anything of the sort - we're lost. But, having seen more of these Sinnoh Pokemon makes it... a little better..." Sky smiled, glad that his brother wasn't totally mad after he got the two of them even more lost than before, if that was even possible. He blinked a couple of times, having seen something moving about behind his brother. "What?" Tyler glanced behind him, seeing nothing, "Saw another Pokemon?" Skyler only shrugged, scratching the back of his hat-covered head, "Maybe, I'm not sure... whatever it was... is gone now, I guess."
Once they started walking again, Sky soon got the feeling that something might be following them or watching them. Though Ty would reassure him that it was only the wild Pokemon living in this forest - besides, why would anyone stalk them? They don't know anyone here in this region anyway. Sky didn't care what his brother would tell him, for the feeling never went away. His nerves got the better of him, for when he saw the mysterious looking creature again, he starting running after turning a corner, with Ty right behind, trying to figure out why he started running in the first place. After a while, they collapsed and were now lying on top of each other. Ty hadn't realized Sky stopped so suddenly and bumped into him, knocking him down. Remaining on the ground for a bit longer, it didn't take long for Ty to realize where they were now, "Sky... I don't know what the heck you just did, but it got us out of the forest! Finally, Sandgem Town!"
Skyler just continued to stare, bewildered. How the hell did he pull that off? He wasn't running because he used his head to get them out, he ran because he had been paranoid. The situation reminded him too much of the time that wild Tauros chased him back in Kanto. Back on a ranch, when they were kids, he somehow pulled its three tails, provoking it, and ended up being chased for over an twnety-five minutes. Probably should just keep it to myself... I know I saw something. That Pokemon or whatever it was. he thought. "Me... either. Heh, I guess I.... I just got lucky or something, huh?" he grinned slightly, looking back, and saw that thing again - for a brief moment. What is that thing? he wondered as Tyler helped him back to his feet. "Now that that's over with... let's get to Rowan's Lab... and fast." Ty suggested, now leading the way. And it didn't take long, unlike his brother, Tyler will stop and ask for directions instead of being stubborn about it. Within the next eight minutes, they approached the Lab. Walking up the staircase, they saw a couple of other kids walking out with their Pokemon. And so far, none of them had an Eevee. Did we make it? That was the thought that repeatedly swirled around in their minds. One of the Professor's assistants told them that Rowan had walked into the back and would return shortly. The two sighed briefly before being directed farther down the hall to wait. "This'll take a while... We'll probably be here for the rest of the day. I bet the guy went out or something." However, they didn't have to wait too long...
"Good afternoon, boys." It was Professor Rowan, who just happened to be standing right behind the two of them. He had just come out of the storage room, the place where all Sinnoh region trainer's Pokemon are sent once they've exceeded the six-Pokemon limit. Apparently, he wasn't gone like Skyler had thought. "What can I do for you two young men?" he questioned, looking from one twin to the other. It had been some time since he had given a starter to twin trainers. "Good afternoon, sir." The twins were still rather surprised by his sudden appearance. "Do you two boys know what Starter Pokemon you'd like?" he asked, walking around them to a table that still had a couple of Pokeballs on its surface. After a few moments, Ty cleared his throat to speak, "Yes, Professor. We were hoping you might still have..." "A pair of Eevee?" Skyler finished.
Professor Rowan gave a slight look of surprise, however, within seconds, his stern-looking appearance returned as he moved away from the table and to one of the drawers of a small chest. There were more Pokeballs there - all lined up perfectly in an open holding case. His finger hovered over them until he found the ones he had been looking for. "Aha, here we are..." he spoke, grabbing two Pokeballs from his right and closed the drawer back and faces the twin boys. A smile soon crossed his face, "You two are very lucky. These happen to be my last two Eevee." Taking a few steps forward, he placed them in the hands of the two brothers. Sky and Ty's brown eyes seemed to glisten in awe - they felt as if they were still dreaming. From what their mother told them before they left, they were doubtful of what Pokemon they would get. But now, all that was behind them.
"Thanks Professor Rowan!" the twins sang joyfully. After saying good-bye, the two walked out of the lab, eager to meet their new partners. Not even a few feet from the lab, they released their Eevee. They, of course, were exactly the same, showing no true differences- like the twin brothers. "Hm.... How will we tell them apart?" Sky asked as he knelled down, petting his Eevee's head. Ty was a bit stumped himself - that would be difficult. Even if they were given nicknames, that wouldn't help very much. With his left hand gripping his chin in deep though, he came up with an idea. Taking his pack off, he rummaged within one of the side pockets. "I originally packed these for us to wear, in case we wanted someone to tell us apart, but we should let them wear it - so we can tell them apart." he answered, smiling. In his hands were two small scarfs, one being red with white strips and the other black with white stripes. They would only be big enough for the boys to wear on their wrist or arm. However, they were big enough for the Eevee to wear around their necks.
Holding the scarfs out in front of them, he waited to see which color the other wanted. He remembered that his mother's Bellossom was picky when it came to wearing an accessory for a Pokemon Contest - who knows, their Eevee might be too. His Eevee batted its paw at the black one while Skyler's Eevee jumped up, grabbing the red scarf in its mouth. "That takes care of that..." the two spoke, grinning before they tied the scarfs around the Eevees. "So, what are you going to name yours?" Sky asked, watching his Eevee now paw playfully at his hand. "Hisaki. What about you?" Skyler had to think about his own, unable to decide realy. The two figured their Eevee's might be girls, at least, they were hoping so. They didn't know who they'd have to go to so that they could find out. "I dunno... maybe Kirameki? Yeah, that sound good."
After exploring the town for a bit, the twins headed toward the beach, their Eevee following close behind them. Up ahead, they noticed a girl, and with her, two other Pokemon. A Growlithe and one of those Sinnoh starters, Piplup more than likely, at least, from what the two have already heard or seen. The two brothers gave a slight shiver. The gusts of winds were a bit strong and chilling, even for them - especially since neither were wearing their jackets. Luckily, Ty didn't forget to pack them, and within the next couple of minutes, they both pulled into their red and white jackets, zipping them up to the base of their collars.

the day before, roxanne had ended up in professir rowans labratory, and had actually been chosen by piplup, roxanne had never heard of a trainer being chosen by a pokémon so when roxanne had rang her mother and told her; lynanne had laughed, and said that it wasn't uncommon for pokémon to pick their trainer - and did she keep her clothes clean, had she paid the rent? was chuugi still leveling up? - at this point roxanne had started laughing, and had said goodbye. while she was still annoyed at her mother for sending her away to sandgem town, roxanne had warmed up to her mother and brother once more, knowing why she had done it - she wouldn't say thank-you to them however.
her pokémon seemed so full of energy, and if she returned home, they would only manage to wreck the place, so roxanne sighed, and called out a, "come on you two, we'll let you train against each other." her words were almost drowned out by the wind, but roxanne watched as her pokémon turned to face each other, and she smiled. "alright, i want a fair fight, no dirty tricks, chuugi." she called out, laughing as her pokémon growled, "begin." she called out, sitting down and picking up her sketch pad, she began flicking through the sketches - some of growlithe, arcanine, and shinx, all of those pictures had others in the background, and as she turned to the back of her pad, a large group of pokémon were sketched out onto the page. this was roxannes' masterpiece.
as a flare of heat made her look up, piplup was narrowly avoiding the fireballs which chuugi was firing at it playfully. turning her attention to the masterpiece, roxanne ripped it out; the noise startled the pokémon and they paused for a moment before returning to their training, setting the paper beside her, roxanne picked up the pencil, and began sketching out the pokémon which had always been her favorite pokémon - charizard, flareon, tauros, leafeon, glaceon and then, she paused. while she still liked houndooms, they had killed her father, and she really didn't want to put it into her picture, closing her eyes, she thought of something which would fit houndooms size and shape, before she grinned, "of course!" she giggled, "salamance." she murmured, before closing her eyes and thinking back to when she'd seen a salamance. her pencil skimmed across the paper, and when she'd finished the picture, she began shading the pokémon in carefully.
she stretched, and as a sudden gust made her shiver, roxanne pushed her zip up to her neck and she shivered once more. sai squawked loudly and chuugi began barking, and roxanne looked up, a pair of boys - most likely twins from the way they looked - were walking towards her, and were those eevee with them? roxanne gazed at the pokémon for a moment, before she stood up, and called out, "oi, chu, behave, i'll recall you." she threatened lightly, and as sai jumped into her arms, roxanne patted the piplup softly before walking forwards and licking her lips, "hello. excuse chuugi if he growls at you, he's not used to people," she murmured softly, voice soft and gentle, as sai wriggled in her grip, roxanne put him on the ground, and smiled, "lovely eevees, by the way. they look cute with the scarves," she remarked, looking down at the young pokémon. 'i wonder if their new trainers' she thought, before twisting her head and gazing at chuugi, who with his ebony eyes.
now, there was a story about me and karma; karma was an actual person, named after her grandmother, karmabelle, we had been friends up until the time she went to my boyfriend, and ended up pregnant - to say the least, i was devastated, and had fallen out with her. my life sprialed down into depression many times. And i blamed it all on karma, if i couldn't blame it on someone, i always blamed it on karma - the force, or the person - and always felt better again. my gaze was locked with the twins, and i kept my gaze loose and rather guarded; for i had no idea if they would try and steal my pokémon.

Averting his attention from the girl and her Pokemon, Ty gave a quick glance to his brother. "I just remembered, we for got to call mom in the Pokemon Center...." Skyler looked over to his brother, smiling a bit. "True... but, then we can always call her the old fashion way, with your phone..." The twins both had their own phones, of course. Though, Sky would always leave his at home or have his brother keep up with it, which is rather ood considering he knew his friends would call him daily. "Where's your phone?" Skyler simply shrugged, smiling a bit, I think I left it in my bed or something this morning. And with all my rushing, didn't make my bed either. Tyler sighed, shaking his head a bit, "Figures. Typical Sky..." As he was about to take his phone out of his jeans pocket, the girl spoke out to them. For the last few seconds, the two had been in their own little world, having forgotten that she was there.
"Hi", the twins greeted, "And it's alright." they finished, both smiling as they glanced down at the Growlithe. "Wouldn't be the first or last time a dog Pokemon started growling or barking at us." Skyler said, looking to his older brother who nodded in agreement. Whether friendly or not, they had a knack for getting certain pokemon annoyed with them, at least, Sky did. He was the trouble-making twin, afterall. "Thanks." The two then looked down at their Eevees. "Yeah, the scarves were my idea - to tell them apart. I'm Tyler by the way. And this is Kisaki." Hisaki sat next to Ty, it's tail swaing a bit behind it. Her gazed seemed fixed with the Growlithe called Chuugi, very curious about him, yet remaining quiet and still. On the Otherhand, Kirameki, tired of sitting and doing nothing, padded up to the female trainer, pawing at the girl's shoes a few times before circling her.
"Kirameki....", Sky muttered, smiling some as he watched his Eevee play with the girl's shoe. Walking forward, he bent down and picked up the young Eevee. "Sorry, she's really playful. I'm Skyler - his twin" he would say, pointing over to his brother, "And.... you've met Kirameki... sorta." The two noticed she seemed a bit tense and on guard but didn't pay too much attention to it.
