"But Angela! Should you really be chancing this? Why not just come back inside and rest? You can always head to Sandgem Town tomorrow? Or maybe the day after?" It was the girls aunt, Tessa - the woman who had been kind enough to share her home with the young white-haired female for the last six years, looking after her as if she were the woman's own child. At the moment, the two were having a ...small dispute about Angela's leaving to receive her first Pokemon. Her class had all graduated the previous day, so now, they were all permitted to set off individually to Professor Rowan's Laboratory. A few coughs managed to emit from her throat but Angela shook her head, looking to her guardian in the most serious manner, "My cold's just about gone any. And I haven't missed a single day of school since I've been sick, so why miss out today?" Standing outside the doorway, she looked around the bustling streets, her gaze soon stopping in the direction in which the Trainer's School would be located.
Being the early days of Autumn, it was still quite warm outside, meaning there wasn't a true need for jackets at the moment, so Angela was fine without one and could even wear her favorite sailor uniforms outdoors. In one of her arms was a Pokemon plush doll, an Eevee doll to be precise. It was her good luck charm, given to her by her mother a few years after her birth. She would usually only keep in at home in her room, back in Solaceon Town. However, after moving here to Jubilife, she could be seen carrying it around with her on occasion and sometimes to school. Although no one may truly believe her, she believes it to possess good luck, and today, she figured she could use all the luck she can - mostly because she'll be traveling alone for the first time. Now with her back turned, she held her doll tightly to her chest, she had been eagerly counting down the days to this important moment and she didn't know if she would be able to wait any longer.
"It's not like I have a fever or anything.... it's just a small cold from the change of weather. I'll be.... I'll be more than fine to leave the house for a while." Her voice was low, almost sounding as if she were whispering to her Eevee doll. After a long, rather frustrating sigh, her aunt couldn't help but smile to her young niece, conceding defeat. She took a few steps forward, now behind Angela as she ruffled the child's hair a bit. "You're your father's child alright. And if you are indeed like my older brother, then I should know that you'll be just fine." With that said, Tessa hugged Angela from behind. "Hopefully, you'll get that fire type Pokemon you want..." Angela smiled as she was now caught in her aunt's gentle embrace. She was constantly told that she and her father were so similar, but she always thought they meant their appearance, not their traits. "Thanks Aunt Tessa... she replied softly as the woman finally let her go, "And don't worry, I'll be back soon to show you my new Chimchar." After their final good-byes were said and done, Angela started off down the next street.
After a while, she happened to walk down the street of her school. A slight smile soon appeared over her face. She knew a few students, but she wasn't very close to anyone, at least, not enough to be called a friend or acquaintance. However, it was probably safe to say that most knew of her or could easily recognize her from the other students because of her bright white and shiny hair. Even so, she knew that she would be more comfortable talking to other Pokemon than with other kids her own age, especially since that's how things use to be back home on her father's ranch. While reminiscing about the past, Angela was unaware of her surrounding and accidentally bumped into somebody, one of the students in her class. He gave her a quick glance before scoffing at her, "Why don't you watch here your going, Rice-top?" Within another half of a second, he continued on his way, as did she, completely ignoring him. She'd been having a good day so far and Angela wasn't going to let something like that bring her down today.
